What's great fun about the impressionistic pastel style is that while a particular part of the illustration needs to read as, for example, blue, in fact I have the freedom to add all sorts of strokes of various colors to subliminally jazz up the color, e.g., using a dark orange next to a pthalo blue, next to a deep ultramarine etc. Back
